The 1st article refers to "Engineers were worried about what effect resting at such a severe angle for so long would have on the inner workings of the cars, especially on the electrolyte in the batteries" while the second alludes vaguely to possible negative effects on JLRs carefully cultivated brand image (by selling vehicles that may have hidden damage).
But If the insurer has to cover everything, we all end up paying for this in the long run. Yes, in the grand scheme of things 30million is peanuts... but I'd like one of the L405s, a Jag F, and I'll take that Boxter as well.... RRC 2Dr, RRC 4Dr, P38, and 2 L322s (wife thinks I'm nuts - prob right, too) |

Some of the photos showed cars with only damaged doors. New body panels are one thing, but removing a door and replacing it with a brand new in one shouldn't be a problem.

JLR will just scrap them... the same as they do with mules, test vehicles etc etc... They can't take the risk of ruining their reputation! If a customer ordered a new car, thats what he paid for Not one sat on a container ship with a JCB sat on its roof for a fortnight! |
