I am new here, considering making a purchase and was hoping someone with more experience could give me some advice.

I know the running costs of these cars is significant and they need taking car of, but the biggest cost is likely to be depreciation and its proving hard to get a feel for what I might be looking at.

I have been looking at Vogue SEs in the low forties which seems to get a late 2011 car with low to average miles and good history. I do unfortunately have to do around 20k miles per annum, and tend to change cars around 2 years.

Am I right in thinking the car is likely to drop circa £10k per year from a trade in value perspective?

Just have a look at what 2009 cars, with 40,000 more miles on, go for....

there's cars and cars some prices have 5 to 10k diff depending colour, spec etc

you want to keep the deprecation up high.....buy a Land Cruiser Amazon, why? I have know idea

FFrr will always fall like a rock falling out the sky while the competition ( LC Amazon) falls like a feather, why we like the RR.......... Im still asking that question as the LC holds the price up ( oh and any other pretend 4x4 is not worthy) If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

Depreciation in the first year is massive - even for a 2 to 3 yr old vehicle due to dealer mark up and warranty - so yes £10k in the first year won't be far off to cover depreciation and the warranty if you chopped it in - a lot depends on where you sell and time of year.

From then on if you keep the vehicle for your mileage, you need to budget around £10k a year to cover all your running costs and ongoing depreciation for that age of vehicle that you are considering - how do I know ? - 40 years of running a fleet of Land Rovers and Range Rovers  2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Pick an older one. The older a car is, the less it depreciates.
