I'd change tbh as you only have one life, I've the belief now after being brought back to life twice in surgery is do it if you smile and are happy, Im paying that for an older one but specced up to the eyeballs and yours is a few years newer, I'd buy it if It was me, I've just agreed to pay 3k for new AB trim to complete the 2012 look so will owe me strong but it's got the colour toys etc I want so will do me for years |

Thanks Bellini, this is exactly the kind of stuff I need to know. I'm not particularly fussy about how my cars look as long as they're mechanically sound, but it would be nice to keep the Range looking decent and have a 110 for dog duties, going to the tip and whatnot. The guy who came to pick up my car yesterday (broken air strut, Rovertune replaced it) brought a shiny new 110 with him and left it outside all day, I found myself getting up every time the phone rang and going to eyeball it!! I've always liked the Defender and its predecessors, I'm tempted to go as far back as a Series IIa so that I can start teaching my son the wonders of DIY spannering. Good point about the thieving, too. The thought did occur to me that I'd need to make sure it was safe. I'll have to give that some thought. Now I've slept on it, I don't think I'm going to go for the newer one offered. I don't want an L405 at all - I've driven one and I liked it, but I do actually prefer the old shape. It doesn't bother me at all that there's a newer version out there - maybe that will change with time, but at the moment the L405 isn't even on my radar so I can forget about it. It would be nice to trade up to a 2012 L322 if I find a nice one at the right price, but it's not worth switching to a car I don't know with similar mileage to mine, just for the sake of an 11 on the numberplate and a slightly nicer interior. I know the other car is a 4.4 TDV8 to my 4.2 S/C, but again diesel vs. petrol doesn't make much difference to me either way. Incidentally, the dealership rang me back yesterday and asked if I'd consider buying a Sport instead. |

With the seriously low mileage you are doing, if you fancied a change and a newer one get a 5.0 SC if you are going to go the hassle of changing
