I for one would love to know how you get on. When I replaced my set I settled on General Grabber ATs (note the AT is actually the newer version - for some reason they renamed the old version to AT2... I subsequently look it on some green lanes up in the Lake District. Despite the consensus (from Defender owners) that it was more capable off-road I did write-off two virtually brand-new (<500 miles) tyres that weekend.

Just put 4 Duratracs on mine in November pick them up from camskill saved a small fortune , even after shipping and fitting it was £20:00 a corner cheaper than my local tyre fitter could do which payed for the 4 wheel alignment .

Good info guys, I put gg ats on a year ago, one de laminated within 3 months and by that I mean, remember the old crossplys becoming apart from the sidewall, just like that. anyway, sent off to manufacturer, no problem they said. So once they are ready to change I will |

Here are the photos with the Duratracs mounted. I hope to have many years and off road adventures with these.

They look really good! I posted a few pics of mine in an earlier post in this thread in the snow near Cape Town in winter 2013. I dropped my tyre pressure a bit too much and ended up with two tyres with sidewall damage. Goodyear was nice enough to overlook my error and replace at no charge. Other than that, grip is fantastic. |

I don't feel very confident airing down 19's. When you do air down, what pressure do you prefer?

I spoke to one of the higher ups at Goodyear in South Africa and he suggested not more than about 20%, otherwise you end up with excessive sidewall flex, which could lead to damage. With low profiles, you are deflating just enough to give your tyres some 'give', so that if you drive over something sharp, the tyre will deform over it, as opposed to getting damaged.
