It's no different to cars carrying space savers.

As Mark said... But make sure you get the same style as the width/offset etc can change from wheel to wheel... |

So there really is no point me carrying this 19" spare around at the moment? I assume running this with 3 20" alloys is not advisable? |

If you have standard recommended tyres fitted to your 20"s and 19"s you will have the same rolling circumference with both so in terms of "on the road" you should not expect any major issues driving on 1 x 19 and 3 x 20's, on your way to your local tyre stockist - you won't want to be seen by other FFRR owners driving around on odd wheels/tyres now, would you? .

I have the original 18" spare from new and have used it twice in 8 years, all the time with 20" so I dont see it as an issue, just remember to have the different nuts with the spare |

18" or 19" spares are not a problem if you run on 20" wheels, just regard it as a 'get you home' spare and you'll be ok... ... - .- -.

My spare is a smaller diameter wheel plus it uses the earlier type wheel nuts, so I have a pack of old spare wheel nuts should I have a puncture. |

The 18 or 19 inch tyres have the appropriate profile to keep the same rolling radius so will work fine. However my own OCD mean's I must have 5 identical wheels and the tyres must also match. |

Thanks mzplcg. That's good to know, if I do need to change one of my 20"s that the spare 19" will work ok until the other is fixed. |

You thinks that's bad. My wife is a Tamworth lass and if you visit our house and come in through the front door you can't leave through the back door. You have to leave via the door you came in. It's a Tamworth thing. My tyre OCD make sense, to me at least although it does mean I have 2 almost new Nexens sat in the garage cos they didn't match the other 3 Continentals. |

Great advice Thanks all. I have the 5 original nuts in a bag in the boot with the spare tyre. |
