Hi

Did any one experience the deleted of the Diesel particule filter on 4.4L TV8?

I know they can be troublesome on L322 -or any car- doing short trips, so would like to know if it is worth taking them out.

Does anyone know of any trouble witht he DPFs and their potential replacement?

I have meet 2 high miler 4.4L TDV8 owners whom had them replaced by Land Rover - but no one deleted them whereas some did on the 3.6L

feedback appreciated.

Hi don't know much about dpf,s but its illegal in this country to remove or tamper with it.
As I believe it's part of the mot and if not fitted will be immediately failed. I maybe corrected by someone with better knowledge.
don't think mine has one fitted as it's not young enough.

In this, and most countries they are unable to test the DPF's work or not unless a warning is displayed on the dash.

Thus in the UK you will find they can easily be deleted, and then the guts of the DPF knocked out (the precious metals in them are worth a few ££) and thus enable a mre freer flowing exhaust. This also usually is accompanied by a tune of the engine ecu for more power and so forth.

My only knowledge is of PSA DPF removals im afraid and once people have had them done they always regret not getting it done sooner as MPG and more torque lower down the rev range is often quoted as a reason.

IMO they are worth the money if you are keeping the car for more than 3 years as it will save you more than the cost of it in roughly that time in slightly increased MPG and much lower running/fault finding costs. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Industry insider info is that removing them would help BHP, not much torque.

They do not really get problematic unless the vehicle is driven for regular very short drives, the filter needing a certain temperature to regenerate. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

I'd say without the heavy restriction of the dpf a turbo would be able to spool up at the lower end of the Rev range.

Even higher mileage ones can suffer their issues. Psa actually recommend they get replaced at 100-150k as a matter of course, I'm betting most other manufacturers are the same don't get me wrong they have their advantages but having suffered issues with them in a Toyota and Citroens before so learned my DPF lessons the hard way  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

King, the "hard way" meaning you had to pay for new units, or that you also broke down on the side of the road?
