Annoying interior rattles/squeaks

I'm sure everyone has these at some point and most of us just live with it, but it would be good if people know common areas of noise in the cabin that can be fixed DIY or by the dealer.

To that end, my TDV8 has the following noise which I just can't trace...

Location: Steering column/ dash board in front of driver
Noise Type: A rattlle, like a loose piece of hard plastic under vibration
When: Noticeable mostly in first few miles, when car has done 20 + miles I don't tend to hear it as much.

My Diagnosis?: Sounds like maybe a loose interior trim screw inside the dash somewhere and maybe, once the car is all warmed up, the plastic expands a bit and the noise is softened?

Anyone got any answers or, other noises you want fixing? Discovery 4 HSE

I had a rattle that sounded like a loose washer in the area around the rear seats in the new car........................... eventually I traced it to the zip on the plastic carrier bag for the waterproof seat covers in the boot. Cured by removing the carrier bags from the boot................. but the noise returned this week and disappeared when I removed my expensive goretex jacket from the back seat. Yup it was another zip pull rattling!

Now I have only to find out what is causing the annoying quiet rattle inside the driver's door casing in the region of the lock button................................. but I don't fancy removing the door card on anew car so it will wait until the first service. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

There is an occasional annoying rattle which comes from the shade screen on my sunroof - only seems to happen in hot weather (just as RRUK suggests, probably due to plastics expanding etc.) - can usually stop it by sliding the shade open, then closed again.

I usually get an annoying whine from the passenger seat, easily cured by asking the wife to get out of the car Whistle
