Rear lights pulsing car won't start HELP!!!!!!

hi all
I'm wondering if anyone has had the same problem as I'm having. I have. 2003 TD6 drove to work this morning no problems at all. Came out to my car after work and the rear lights were pulsing on and off. I depressed my fob and the indicators started to do the same so it ended up looking like exactly the same as cars with rear lights with poor earth.
Car wouldn't open with the fob opened the door with the key got in sat down looked at the dash and the illumination behind the dials was also pulsing but very dim. Put key in the ignition and the key wouldn't turn to start the car, just wouldn't turn!!!

Any ideas

Dave
