Sat nav

For those that already have a 405 what is the sat nav like, is it a variation on the old style, how do you update, is it as good as a £90 tom tom. letters not necessarily in the right order

United Kingdom 2019 Range Rover Autobiography 2.0 PHEV Loire Blue

I have come from a 2011 L322 into a 14 L405.

Faster to operate. Puts the turn map in the instrument panel. Traffic well integrated into the system. Less user friendly than the old system (it used to give you a choice of routes: fast, short and alternate it still will but you need to delve into the deep menu option to find it). Prone to choosing odd routes (first choice from Oxford to Devon was A40 to Cheltenham then M5 down). Will very occasionally take you off a road to bring you back on a hundred yards later. Annoying to look round on a map as the touch screen isn't as responsive as it should be.

Tom Tom would be better but that is the case for 90pct of cars OEM satnav.
