Keys fail to work

There is nothing wrong with the keys, diagnostic shows that they are fine but central locking will not operate except via locks or internal button.
Anyone ever had the same issue?

Yes lights work, when the diagnostic is hooked up it will lock/unlock on command but when you instruct simulating the key nothing happens
