United Kingdom 2014 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Corris Grey

Yeah well I used to be a class 1 driver, heavy haulage actually, trains 'n' stuff. And I packed up because of the fact that the job turned into "logistics" and the average IQ of their drivers dropped to negative numbers.

I've heard it all before, you won't get this, you won't get that. Yeah we will, it'll just happen in a different timescale and to be frank, most supermarkets have the bulk of their fleet out when the roads are quiet to save fuel.

The thing most drivers don't get is that they are paid to drive whereas for the rest of us we only drive to get to work and trucks do nothing but cause us delay & congestion with thoughtless and mindless driving, not that it requires much of a thought process these days with auto boxes, power steering, electric everything and creature comforts better than home. My first truck was a Scammel Crusader 6x4 of 1979 vintage. Didn't even have power steering, never mind air-con, leather, autoboxes, yeah, try driving an Eaton Twinsplitter one day. That was when we worked for a living.

So since there's so little to do except mind a steering wheel, is it too much to ask that they drive considerately? Not really.

And school runs don't cause tailbacks that are several miles long. Nuff said.

As well as the FFRR, I have a Disco 1. It doesn't accelerate like a petrol V8 Rangie does. When trying to overtake on an incline, there are times when it kicks down, but doesn't actually increase in speed. Well. TIME TO MOVE OVER THEN. It's just not happening, so let those who CAN go, GO! Hogging the passing lane is one of my pet peeves. The blood really boils when the car blocking the passing lane has "Driving Academy" emblazoned on the side. Shocked

If you want to be really frustrated (and frightened to death) by inconsiderate HGV's, (and plenty of cars and buses to be honest), you want to try riding around on a push-bike Rolling Eyes
