Before i rip my car apart and my hair out , should the green ring round both front and back cigarete lighters illuminate ? Its an hse on a 03 plate .

Mine were missing but under the ashtray by the handbrake there's a small brown three pin plug with two wires into it, that's the light feed, I made a clip with an led onto the lighter last week to get to work easy enough by pulling the gear stick and brake covers off four torx screws then remove the centre console you can get proper light holders or make your own like I did  _____________________________________________________
