Guys what do you think of this L322 pls?

http://www.usedvehicles.landrover.co.uk/se...ls/2477002

Hi guys, am looking for a FF tdv8 2010my in blue/black with cream/ivory leather.

I feel more comfortable buying from approved dealer given I need peace of mind as car will mainly be used by the mrs and I've never had a RR before and want the fallback of that 12mth LR warranty!

The above car looks about right but there is a 2 year gap between services (jan 2013 then nov 2014 at the selling dealer).

Does anyone know this car or have experience of this dealer? They s
eem very helpful so far, just don't want a 250mile wasted trip to view if anyone has any colour in advance.

This site has been so helpful already do thanks all in advance.

Good price for the mileage, that. Nice looking FFRR.

Check condition of tyres, as at £200 a corner, you may need to factor it into the price given the approaching winter if they're getting low.

At 55k, it'll soon be due a full gearbox oil flush & filter change, too. There's another £250+.
I'd also be looking at transfer case and diff oil change. Another £100 or so.

Finally, check condition of discs and pads, as there's another £100 for a set of pads alone.

Not saying it'll need all of the above, but just things to consider. Smile

Bought a TDV8 RRS from them 3 years ago and they were very professional. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another from them.

Looks like a fair car, agree with much of the above, there is a great buying guide in the wiki which should be a first point of reference.

Be aware that on the facelifted 2010 models the Brembo brakes are deleted from the tdv8 spec. The replacement units are not meant to much cop in comparison. Vogue spec is plenty for most folks, you do lose out on a few niceties that the vogue se has such as heated and cooled seats and nice leather but most of it is there.

Is this the first one you have looked at? If not then have a look at a couple of more local ones to you so as to get an idea what they are like to drive etc,

Can't comment on that particular car, from a few pics but the spec and colour are nice, it has the right tyres on (pirelli scorpions) which means that the prev owner has probably swapped onto good tyres at about 40k, either that or the dealer has put a new set on!

Possibly worth a closer look if it fits the bill. The service should be annual, what is the milage gap in the 2 year space? If it's really low then could explain why the annual service was skipped.

Agree wholeheartedly with Stan, the warranty is good if it's your first, at least you will be covered if you miss something! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Yes, I sadly ended up with the abysmal 2 pot calipers on my 2010 TDV8, hence why it's going in for a set of 6 pots very soon, all being well. Very Happy

My 2p worth regarding warranty, if its under 5 years and as it says its under 100,000 miles you will get an approved land rover warranty, if its over 5 years old you will get a select warranty. Major stuff is covered still but see if you can do a search to find out the differences between them online, or someone on here may have a direct link. Thumbs Up

For a couple more thousand you can get a 4.4td with the 8 speed gearbox. That was my thinking, until I tried one, and then bought a 5.0SC...!! So take no notice of me, but if you are not doing much mileage, be sure to drive the SC, because it will blow you away.

Bought my D3 from Sturgess in 2005. Great service from Michael, but I don't think he's there anymore. RR looks identical to mine in terms of spec, mileage and condition. Mine cost £500 more, albeit 6 weeks ago, but from an Indy dealer. So I'd say it looks a good prospect.

And I travelled from London to Leicester too. Back in 2005, D3s were rarer than rocking horse poo unless you wanted to wait a long time for one.

Guys, thanks for all the invaluable advice. Have found out a little more detail

Service History.
8/12/2010 - 12697 miles
2/11/2011 - 21811 miles
9/01/2013 - 34537 miles
08/11/2014 - 55860 miles

1st Reg’d 21st april 2010
2nd owner 21/09/14 - BIT WEIRD only short period of ownership - alarm bells?

Tyres: fronts 4mm, rears 5mm

Front pads 60% wear (they say 7-8k miles left), discs 40% wear
Rear pads 15% wear, discs 25%

I read that LR dealers dont knock much off their price so if all else fine, then i am hoping as part of the negotiations they would agree to replace all 4 tyres and front pads. Unrealistic?

Also, should i be worried about the time and mileage covered between those 2 services? Bit strange how last owner only had it a couple of months but could of course all be very innocent.

Thanks again guys for all input.

you should definitely negotiate for newer tyres as tyres are almost done and you are staring at changing them after 6-8 months max.
plus winters are approaching, its always advisable to have decent tread on tyres.

new tyres are 7/8mm so they are not quite 'done'.....certainly new pads/discs and a full service could be negotiated.. ... - .- -.

Do I understand well, 4 years of ownership? To me that sounds nearly eternal. Nice car mister Thumbs Up

Misunderstood, sorry second owner, yes that's a very brief encounter, phone him, dealer will have his contact details.
