large box of ratchet straps and 2 tow strops, spare breakaway

suesy lead

I think I need to get moe equipped and organised like you guys. I notice some of you have a cargo net, is this just a generic one or a specific one for the Range Rover? Thanks

Hi jaiscossie, I would not take too much notice of the amount of stuff that I carry in the boot of my FF, I use the car for work, and it is a business tool. As a result I have to carry a lot more than is necessary for happy motoring.
I would how ever recommend some good jump leads, 400 amp minimum and at least 3m long, and sturdy tow rope or strop, and 2 'D' or 'Bow' shackles (saves tying knots in a rope). These will help you or a fellow motorist in trouble. And a few fuses, and a small pair of pin nosed pliers (for fuse removal and replacement). And a reasonable tyre pump is a good idea! Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

It's wife's car so from memory... brolly, push chair, a few folding Tesco crates and bags, couple of bungee cords (mine), AA road atlas (mine again). I like carrying nothing and driving with nothing so the boot in my own car is generally empty, unless I'm on a mission to collect something which would probably be in the RR!

if you buy yourself a tow rope like i did, with clip eyes on the ends, check it hooks on properly through the towing eyes as mine didn't! it went through but the clips wouldnt 'clip back' and it was raining, ( i was towing neighbours van home) d shackles would have been fine though. ... i bought a couple of ebay cheap cargo nets, for about £4 each, made by 'silverline' they are a bit stretchy, but hold my plastic box of goodies on the right hand side.
jump leads, towrope(s) ratchet straps for roof bars. some hand tools. fire extinguisher, (mounted on shelf next to window glass.) small brush, for rubbish sweeping. spare reg plate. couple of extra old rubber mats for messy stuff. latex gloves, i have an upright mounted skinny spare wheel (with stretch cover) , like the classic, mounted on left side as i have LPG tank in the wheelwell. So, no parcel shelf. -car came without one anyway. the good thing witht the wheel upright, is i can change the spare without unloading the whole of the boot etc, on the motorway. most LPG-ers carry a can or tyre weld. ok for a 'walk to car -Oh no!' flat tyre, not that usefull, with a speed related puncture. (skinny spare is from disco3 with some steel type wheelnuts) and in the well of the spare I have the sprinter jack, strapped, and a round pice of plywood to jack it on soft mud

The 5.0 is still "clean" but won't be for long once I get it here.

The 4.2 had (out of sight)
- Hydraulic Sprinter jack
- Tyre repair kit
- 12 V compressor (used every 3 weeks for rear wheel)
- Spare light bulbs
- Safety shoes
- Gloves (work)
- Overall
- Old but still good for emergency multibelt, just in case
- some wire, rope, tie-wraps, gaffa tape for emergency repair work
- baby wipes (to clean hands and daughters bottom)
- toilet roll (yes to wipe *rses)
- WD-40
- An old suitcase full of FFRR parts/spares because I didn't like to store them in the apartment when we didn't have a garage anymore. This was obviously in sight but black so didn't really see it.

When the 5.0 gets here, I'm considering building my own toolbox that fits into the back against the seats. Once we move to place where off-roading and hiking is easy, then I will extend it to a "shootbox" type unit so it can store all the relevant gear. So yes I'm applying for jobs in Oz and Scotland as well Smile Smile Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

brolly
wellington boots in boot bag
coat
leggings
foot pump
Ping silica gel sachet - to absorb moisture in the tyre well
recovery strap
2 x 5 ton shackles
first aid kit
reflective vest
entrenching tool - to dig if my General Grabbers loose traction
cable ties
bungee cords
bin bags x 4 (for wet clothes or to lie on)
2 x 25 litre stacking tubs for shoot days
dog box
spare leads
protective gloves
poo bags for when in polite company (dogs)

believe it or not 99% of that fits in the tyre well, or in the rhs cubby box below the floor and ensures that I am ok for most things that my RR gets involved with

plus on shoot days :-
guns
dogs
sticks
cartridges
and other associated Paraphernalia / spare clothes / coats etc in 2 shooting holdalls and victuals in a wicker basket 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Absolutely nothing.

I have a small Range Rover umbrella that fits neatly on the middle of the back seat between backrest and squab. I find it's handier being there than anywhere else, apart from when my children got hold of it on holiday recently and couldn't collapse it, rendering my son pinned to his seat with this black umbrella in his face until I could stop and help him out.

I fill the boot with stuff I may need for each trip. Most of the time, for work, I don't need a thing, but for walks, etc, it's the usual paraphenalia and detritus that a family feels is needed. It's all removed when back at home. Si. <This is my name.
