Front crash bar interchangeability pre/post 06 facelift?

Hello,

Had an unfortunate incident with a tree last night, embarassed to go into detail but long & short is I now have a squashed 2007 SC front end, bonnet, bumper, n/s light, most of the mounting brackets etc (and heavily damaged drivers door too).

I've not had the car long (although had lots of other FF's) and although insured fully comp, its got 143k so I'm not keen to submit a claim, and as I'm happy to give fixing it a go, will go down this route.

I made a list of what I think need, contacted Harwoods LR in Croydon & have prices on everything.

Setting aside the cost of the headlamp and bumper skin, which I anticipated as being heavy, the bumper reinforcement / crash bar was quoted at £312 inc vat which I wasnt expecting.

Having had a quick look on ebay, there are dozens of these from around £50 but all are pre facelift, and the post facelift has a different part number and although they look very simillar, there seems to be small differences. 2010 looks different again which I'd expect.

My question is, can the 02-06 bars be fitted to an 07 year car, or even a 2010 bar, and all the other 07-10 parts bolted on without issue?

On a wider note, if anyone has carried out a 2010 conversion on a 07-09 car and has any parts that may be of use to me, I'd love to hear from you.

Rgds,

Jonathan

I have considered that option, just not entirely sure if its worth the extra cost given the mileage on the car - having said that there seems plenty of bumpers etc on ebay, opposed to just a few of the 07-09.

I suppose its mainly the cost of the led headlights & wiring / coding of them etc thats also putting me off.

Now you've mentioned it, its got me thinking again I have to admit!

Craig did a previous 2012 faceliftand for me & I was really pleased with the result, but cant justify it on this one.

But good shout, will drop him pm re the mountain of 07-09 stock he must be piling up!
