Alfa Romeo Brera ?

I think this is one of the prettiest cars on the road today

I know it is not red ( Shocked ) but actually think this looks better in black.

Anyone had any experience of recent Alfa's ? ( I know Top Gear says you are not a proper petrol-head until you have owned one, but that is the stuff of myths? Can't have a worse reliability record than an FFRR Wink) .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

I've had several Alfas over the years from an Alfasud to 156's and loved everyone of them. The wife has an 08 147 Sport, it's a 1.9 diesel, drives and goes very well and has been extremely reliable.

I wanted a Brera when they came out but haven't had one yet.

They may have lost their way in recent years but I would love to have another Alfa.

Funny, I was looking at a 156 with the 2.4 engine a little while ago. It had a few faults so I walked away. Engine sounded great though, much better than your typical inline 4.

From the research I've done they seem pretty typical in terms of reliability. A few known issues, the diesels seem pretty bullet proof. Costly issue is the cam belt. Make sure it was done recently, and if not get it done with the water pump. That's no different from VAG cars though.

Still thinking of getting one as a winter shed as my VX is off the road at the moment pending a refurb and I don't want to commute in my RR.
