The cost doesn't seem too bad, but I'd question the front airbag...what is the reason for having to replace that?

Sounds about right from a friendly indie... I'd ask him to fit a Delphi airbag and not a Dunlop one, which I imagine he's quoted for as they are the cheapest....

You really ought to replace both front airbags if that's the case, as they consist of the bag and the strut as a complete unit, so not a good idea just to do shocker and spring on 1 wheel only.

Thanks Guys will speak to him re airbags, I thought both would need changing but he is adamant only one needs done. Booked in Monday for all the work so will see results. Its a spit and sawdust type place but they are an MOT station,. Was sick of the other chaps sending it off elsewhere first to 'see what it needs', feel quite comfortable with these guys which is half the battle. Wish I had some technical knowhow, but I dont I can hit a golf ball though.... |

Despite what he says, I would insist on BOTH suspension airbags being replaced - never a good idea to put new parts just on the one side! 2006 (56 Reg) 4.4 V8 Vogue In Bonatti Grey (Gorgeous!!) |

Glass half full... I think it'll be a genuine quote, maybe with a bit of bespoke tweaking from Rosco re the make of parts he wants to be used, which might add a wee bit to the price. |

Just a quick update, all of the above work was done with the addition of brake pipes front to rear as they 'fell apart in my hands' or Ayrahire words to that effect! So I now have an MOT with NO advisories, there's a first for everything.

Ahhh, you would think so however now I dont have the suspension banging about, there are some other noises that concern me, like a drone in reverse et al. Happy FFRR Days |
