fitting rear screens

Hi, I'm still looking to buy a range rover, I've seen a couple but seen one that I like without rear rear screens. I've seen a range rover that I don't want to buy with Rosen screens fitted that have a DVD player within them. Are these easy to fit? Or is there a company that can fit them for you?
Tried searching on here but can't seem to find an answer.

Thumbs Up

Depends how much you will use them and how deep your pockets are. I had this dilema when I was searching for a Vogue SE and decided that the cost of having screens and DVD's in the rear was way more expensive than getting the kids an iPad each !!

I had fitted Rosen systems in to 2 previous disco's too and it's not a massive job, but when you then look at the work in adding headrest screens...it's expensive. If there is no sunroof, you could roof mount one but I'd not recommend this with a sunroof.

I never sit in the back either, so Censored em !!!

Wink Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

I have RSE (Rear Seat Entertainment) - IMHO it's a complete waste of time.

2 screens, a DVD changer in the boot and can be controlled from the front screen. Great in theory - but my kids just use their iPads.

I've had the car 3 or 4 years and it's been on maybe twice.

Seriously, I'd spend the money on iPads - or Tesco Hudls or some other tablet thats a lot more useful than seat back monitors for a DVD.

Ta, decided to get a SE but the one that's top of list doesn't have em. For the kids really. Whistle The original fitment, does it allow you to watch 2 different tv programmes at the same time?
Just want an idea roughly how much it would cost to fit after market ones.
Weighing up my options. SWMBO said she didn't want them but after seeing em likes the idea now. Rolling Eyes

You can select different sources for each monitor, but there's only 1 DVD changer/player and 1 TV tuner - there are also RCA connectors for you to add other devices, such as an iPod or other video player.

No, the rear screens will only show the same TV channel, or the same DVD. Each can watch either the TV or the DVD, but not different TV channels.

I've had them in my last 2 RRs and have never used them. The chances of them kids being happy with what's on the TV (assuming you can get any decent reception) is unlikely and then having both of them agreeing to watch the same DVD at the same time is equally remote. Best get them separate devices, like Ipads, or HUDLs as has been suggested. And of course they also have t'interweb! Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Thank you for your inputs. Thinking if I get one without the rear screens, there is a place over in Leeds that fits after market Rosens so will ring them and find out how much it will cost. I'll be sat down at the time of phoning just in case. Shocked

Sometimes second hand headrests come up on the bay of e with the screens already in. Just get the right colour leather.

Previously from another ff obviously !

If that's the route you want to go.

Tablets better now I recon....

Ipad 1's with nextbase stanchion mounts and iPad holders, and a set of nextbase IR headphones.

Beats dvd's hands down, I've had varoius dvd systems admittedly bolt on ones, they were good but usually resulted in an argument over which film to watch, the iPads can be loaded to each child's request and then they can watch which film they want when they want, or remove the iPad and play a game etc. can fit about 25-30 films on a 64gb ipad 1 so plenty of chip e and you don't have to keep rotating the films. Takes a few hours to set it up (ripping dvd is a little time consuming) but once done it's great.

The next base kit is good too, there is usually some on Amazon, the ipad holders have built in or tranitters so the headphones work, and can be clipped in and out of the fixed stanchions easily (and come with them). There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Replacement headrests are often a poor grade of leather, and the faff to fit it all together is not great...when I had a D3 there was a lad over on the D3 forum (no longer there) who did a retro fit with headrests etc for around £1000 for forum members as a special Shocked

You sound pretty set on the screens, I like OEM stuff too, original look and feel...I paid £££ for the genuine iPod integration on mine and it's pretty terrible giving just 6 playlists and emulating a CD changer....many on here told me to go with the Alpine DAB option but I wanted LR...

What I mean is, don't spend a grand on screen fitting when a couple of ipad/tablets and wireless headphones will do a better job Thumbs Up Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........
