OK Chaps. My work hack is starting to need some maintenance, stuff like shocks, brakes etc. It's only a Skoda Superb, 2006 with 165k on it now so it's not done badly.

Anyway, looking at Eurocarparts and Halfords etc I see many options with varying prices. Let's take the shockers as an example, options include Bilstein, Anschler, KYB, Sachs and Gabriel. Massive price difference and surprisingly Bilsteins are among the cheapies.

Any brands to avoid? Any which stand out as good value for good quality please? I don't want the cheapest but equally don't want to waste money on extravagance. Commute is 107 miles each way, 104 of those being motorway.

I have had Bilsteins on the D1 and had KYB on the Land Cruiser both where fine for what they did, have you checked what the genuine parts cost, some time they are the same or better priced. If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!
