While my 2012 is in the dealers for repair LR have loaned me a new RR Sport (5.0 supercharged ! ). The terrain response II has a new setting called "dynamic" which does have a big effect on the car performance and feel. I wondered if the L405 has this setting too ?

thats a shame because it defo makes a real difference to the drive unlike sport mode on the box which just holds gears longer.

Because the chassis is very well set up for their targeted clients, the ones that want to drive flat out in a 4X4 usually buy a Sport... or a Cayenne... or a X6 or another SUV that pretends to be a sports car.

Well the new rr sport in normal mode is a fantastic drive but dynamic takes to a new level. Not sure I agree with the target audience not wanting a sportier feel as switchable option when they want...why buy a 5.0 supercharged in that case?

Because the engine suits the car. Not to drive the wheels off the thing, just to have a smooth and powerful engine. The car is not suited to a sporty driving style. It is nice to have the power when you need it. A Rolls-Royce Phantom has a V12 but I don't think buyers drive it flat out. If you want a sports car buy one. I don't think a Range Rover should be driven as such. Just my opinion.

I got a ride around a racetrack in a JLR RRS2 (the Supercharged one). We were five in the car and the professional driver really gave it the beans. It's insanely fast on the straights, but there was a LOT of braking going into the curves. Bloody good fun, though!
