Citroen psa 1.6hdi injector seals

Anyone had a citroen or other car with the 1.6hdi engine in it, a mate has one and it's blowing past the injector seal on one of the cylinders.

Looking for an idea of labour time to swap the seals, whch I see are only about £5?

Nmj is it yours?! If so I will offer one word of warning....

RUN! As fast and as far as your legs can carry you from the vehicle!! 😄😄😄😄😄

In all seriousness I'm betting you have a 16v unit in something like a C4/Picasso/307/407 unit.

The seals can be swapped quite easily DIY, but the thing is cleaning out the faces.
Get ALL the other injector bolts loosened and clamped back down to the correct torque and then sell car.

Yea they are cheap and good for insurance and road tax and fuel but by god are they horrid engines.

I had one in a C5 recently that came into me as a runner with issues. I started it once looked it over and didn't even bother plugging my lexia into it ( The proper dealer tool for the cars) and just sold it as it was.
Some places won't even offer warranty on turbo units for them as they just eat them constantly Sad

If they insist they love and can't be petted from it declare them insane and enthuse they halve their service intervals and get the injector clamp bolts torqued at each service, and keep on top of dpf issues and make sure it gets a good hot run every now and again to keep it good.

PM me if you want more stuff or even some diag time for it Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Sorry for the waffle!

Labour time should be about an hour, maybe 90mins tops as its a pretty simple task. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
