Brembos?

Can anyone tell me when the brembos were available? Did they stop for a while them bring back?

Thanks

otto-mate,

Do you know how to update your profile so viewers know what variant and year L322 you have (makes it easier for replies) to be tailored to your car Thumbs Up

It has previously been posted on the forum that LR stopped fitting Brembo's on 09/10MY cars and that they started fitting them again in 2010.

Thanks pld118. I've just sold my X5 and I'm in the research/looking phase at the moment, my profile is set to 'not an owner'.

Brembo's were available on all SC models from 2006, and all TDV8s from 2007

Not sure if they were discontinued at the end of the 09 production run, but fitted again on 2010 models.

At some.point they also fitted 6 pot Brembo calipers

They were fitted to all 2006 -> 2009 cars, 4.2sc and tdv8. They were discontinued on the 2010 facelift year 3.6tdv8's but continued on the s/c and were reintroduced to the diesels with the 4.4tdv8 which have the 6 pot calipers. I think the 5.0sc has the 6 pots too but not sure when they were introduced though I suspect at 2010 facelift. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

As above but for clarity, the 2009 3.6 TDV8 facelift was when they ditched the Brembo's and then re-introduced them (in 6 pot guise) on the 2011 4.4 TDV8 Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I fitted brembos to my disco and it was much better, ive brought a ffrr on the change over plate 59.

No brembos, but i might fit them, does any one know if both types will fit, 4 pot or 6 pot? and also, what are the standard discs and pads, tdv6 part number? or were there separate parts just for the interim?

Cheers, Steve

I have not checked but... 4 pot Brembos have a smaller mounting bolt than the 6 pots so, NO you cannot put the 6 pot on a 4 pot hub (if that makes sense?) so, you would need to check the size/diameter of the mounting bolt hole through the hub on your car to tell if it would take the earlier 4 pot of later/larger 6 pots Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

TDV6 part numbers??????? No such FF on a 59 plate sir...

Thanks, i just meant that if all the pre 2009 had brembos, and then for 1 year they stopped and then started again after 2010, was there and interim part number for the brakes, or were there earlier tdv8s without brembos?

Forgive my stupidity

Steve

Why did they ditch the Brembo brakes on the 3.6 TDV8? Cost? Reliability? Something else? My TDV8 obviously has non-Brembo brakes as it was built in Jan 2010, but it could certainly do with them as whatever it is fitted with are not really up to the job.
