God that Bentley is ugly! RR is the king imo.

If you like that kind of thing then the Bentley is going to tick the Gucci boxes for you, and that's fine. I am not a £1m a year earner so it's never in a realistic line of sight for me. Even if it was, I'd likely have a SDV8 AB anyway and £100k of diesel Mr. Green Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

A Cayenne Turbo drives as well, is almost as fast but the interior is not up to the Bentley standards of quality.I had one of the early one's when they came out, nothing could touch them on performance, quality of engineering etc etc but they were pig ugly to the outside world. Never bothered me though as I wasn't looking at it mostly.

Really good one's start at one third of the cost of a Bentley.

Just looked at the video. Nice finish on the interior of the Bentley but a bit cramped in comparison in the back. If I were in the market I would stick to the FF. Thumbs Up

SWMBO has just looked over my shoulder and her comment on the Bentley was, "It's a bit Volvo-ey." Very Happy I can see what she means looking at the rear view. John

At least with the Bentley dealer network one would assume that their level of service, backup and professionalism would be impeccable. With a Land Rover product this falls way below the standard expected of a £75k+ car in my opinion and others on here.

You are probably correct to assume that and the dealership would support you better, as they should for £170k...

LR dealers vary, the 2 vehicles I have had from LR main dealers were both supported very well in fairness.

Not sure a bit Volvo-ey is an issue, the new XC90 is a lovely looking car.

I'm actually thinking this isn't a direct fair comparison either. If you want a fast, luxury car and have a budget of £150+ to spend then the Bentley would make sense. If you are looking for something that can transport you at a 'legal' speed and like many RR drivers have the ability to be a bit utility-like for towing and carrying, then the RR is the better option.

A new Lambo Huracan is around £180k and is very fast, a BMW M5 almost as fast and costs around £90k. Very different cars, but the cheaper one is likey more appealing and versatile....I think it's the same with this comparison. Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

I saw a couple at what looked like a dealer launch in Sardinia 2 weeks ago too. Agreed, did look very nice, interior lovely but heard no engine noise.
Not sure I'd commit to one though but all the same theyve made a good job and a bit different from the herd of sheep that we all are Thumbs Up

Enjoyed the video review thank you Thumbs Up For me it's just so obvious from the video that the Bentley is a Q7 made to look even less attractive. Of course it will ride flatter, it's the thick end of four inches shorter. And as for the interior Bentley have always done interiors very well but the Range Rover is hardly slumming it and for me the true comparison is a standard AB SC and yes the interior isn't quite up there but hey it's £60k cheaper before options. The SVAB at £150k is madness when the standard is so good for two thirds of the money.

As for dealers, even Bentley have horror stories, remember reading one in these pages recently.

I get that the finish and detailing is that bit better on the bently, and I completely understand the guys comment of the RR trying to punch out of its quality bracket ... the simplistic interior of the RR just doesn't lend itself to being tweaked with features of opulence. Its a lovely interior, but too simple. A bit like trying to hand an ornately carved gold leaf picture frame in a modern contemporary house to make it look luxurious .... just doesn't quite work The RR would be better making the all bits and detailing in optional bespoke colours. For example, with a blue outside / cream inside interior combo, to have some of the metal detailing in light gold colour could really add a subtle bit of wow factor. Just little touches like that would make a difference.

As for the Bentley . . . Cant help but see the rear looking like a beefed up audi A6 avant, and the front just so imbalanced with the grill. Its just proportions that don't really work for me. V8 or else ...

I thought the review was quite fair. I thought the Bentley would be uglier but it's not too bad. I can see it being the future car of choice for UK footballers as the RR is becoming as common as muck. Laughing

There are so few LR dealers here that getting service in Oz for a Land Rover is bad enough, trying to get it for a Bentley would be horrendous. Ron B. VK2OTC
