Did it at last 21.2 mpg Woo hoo

Right Gents my commute is quite often 120 miles each way so this morning was up extra early so thought lets see if you can get 20 mpg out of the FF. I know other people do but so far my average for this journey is somewhere between 14 and 15 mpg - has been as low as 12 Shocked any way today with plenty of time took it gentle and never let my impatience get in the way and lo and behold 21.2 who says supercharged are not economical Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I used to get slightly over 21mpg driving 30 miles into Hammersmith and back each day.

My work office moved recently to Park Royal, so my journey changed from Chiswick onwards up the North Circular for a few miles.

Notwithstanding stopping off at Chiswick for an 800m swim each morning and getting consequently worse traffic thereafter, I'm now down to 20mpg. The stop-start nature of a few miles each way, coupled with the occasional burst to get in front of dawdlers, despite the rest of my journey being relatively fuss-free has really hampered things.

I suspect the darker mornings and shorter days will hamper that even further as lights and heated stuff come increasingly into play each day.

But then, there really isn't much to better the interior of an FF in bad weather and traffic. They're exceptional places to be. Si. <This is my name.

I eat rat poison.

My 2003 4.4 has been showing 25.0 on the fuel consumption computer whilst doing a steady 70mph on the motorways. I wonder what the true figures is ? Question

Went to Llandudno today, traveling on the A470, that's a twisty hilly road, when I got home the mpg figures show 20.7, so getting 25 steady on flat fast roads are possible, best mine has done yet is 22.5 on A roads a month back Thumbs Up
