Advice please

I'm looking at changing from a HSE Disco 3 to a FFRR TDV8 - although having read on the forum the expected reduction in prices - I'm now going to wait until the dealers are overrun with part Ex's in Sept / Oct.

I had planned to get a set of 18" Disco 3 SE wheets with AT2 tyres as we tow a horse box a lot & need better traction but would these fit on a FFRR with brembe brakes ?

Been offered a set of neasrly new ones at a good price, do not want to buy them now, only to find I've got to sell them again in a couple of months !!

If anyone can advise would be appreciated.

Regards

Paul

Stick with RR wheels as the off sets / nuts etc will be different.

You could buy them then sell the wheels.

If you find some 19" tyres I would be interested Thumbs Up

Thanks nb. Thumbs Up

I suspect the 18's will probably not fit over the brembo's so I expect as you suggest I will be staying with the RR wheels.

I believe the AT2 will be available in 19" come september time - AJS tyres on Disco 3 forum Bow down

Might be worth contacting him.

Kind Regards

I used to have a D3SE with AT2's on the 18" alloys.

Now, it's a TDV8 and I'm running with 19" Pirelli AT/R.

No way would I go back to the AT's on the FFRR even if they were available in 19". Yes, they were great on the Disco but the FFRR is a different beast all together. Whistle The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

I don't think the TDV8 3.6 is going to drop at all. At present, it's the pick of the bunch and it's a peach of an engine. My D3 was chipped with 240bhp and I thought I'd be doing the same with the TDV8 when I got it. However, after 18 months I still think it's fast/frugal enough without wanting more.

Besides, the 4.4 will be untried/untested and, if current trends are to be followed, it will probably turn out to be poor in comparison to expectations. In that case, the 3.6's could end up costing a premium. Whistle The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

Depending upon what I get for mine in part ex circa £30k/£31k

looking at an 07 - 07 & 57 08, both were advertised at £34k+.

I used webuy any cars to value both & mine, suggested that was a fair trade value for both plus £1,500 dealer margin / warranty etc.

Not closed either deal yet but we are as the say still talking !

most new FFRR customers already own one - therefore it is likely that against new 4.4's quite a few 3.6 will be p'xed - its bound to push prices down - unless demand increases for s/h vehicles...
