Are You Removing Your Tax Disc on 1st October ?

As most of you may know, there is a change to the way the UK's road fund licence is being policed, and the paper disc will not be used after the above date.

Existing discs can also be removed from vehicles.

I plan on removing my disc, but will prob leave the holder stuck to the window in case I need to display anything else there, like a parking permit.

Just wondered whether others planned to remove theirs ?

The fact that it cost me a s**t-load of money in the first place, I'll leave it on until it crumbles into dust!

No way do I want the world to think I'm pond scum who doesn't tax (or insure) their vehicle!

Rolling with laughter @ Mike

Ive recently done the 2004-2010 conversion and spent ages writing to HR Owen to get one of their Tax Disc holders! Anal i know but as a kid the cars with HR Owen branding were always the high end ones, so thought it would help in the conversion look!

Took bloody ages (in works time of course!) as they are now not branded and are plain so had to search all over and are hard to find. Stuck it in the window for 3 weeks, and now dont need it! Banging Head

Doh!!! Accept, some days your the pigeon, some days your the statue!

For parking ticket there is a really cheap see through plastic clip (think Volvo came up with them and they seem to be standard on their cars) that you can hardly see when it is not in use. Much better then a bloody tax disc holder. I hate anything on the screen (In Malaysia you have to display your road tax sticker still) I always tried to put them as much out of sight as possible (lower or upper corners).

So yes, will remove it.

I voted yes... then I thought, I've just paid nearly £300 for a years tax and would have nothing to show for it! Rolling with laughter

(It will be coming out - I don't like clutter at the best of times) Nice clean windscreen Thumbs Up 2011 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography

Well, took mine out this morning. The fact that the DVLA no longer require you to display a tax disc and therefore can remove your tax disc holder must mean that they have come to an arrangement with Land Rover to improve the reliability of their cars as we will no longer have the dealers number to hand when it all goes pear shaped!
Having said that i guess it will always be in the recent call log on my mobile as it is never more than 10 calls ago! Wink
