Bluetooth problems

in my MY2006 SC I get in and connect my phone to the Bluetooth. It doesn't download or show the phone book so when someone calls unless I can see my phone screen I just get a phone number and do not know who is calling. If I turn the car off and use it again a few minutes later I have to connect and pair again to the car and I have to do this every time.

Is there a solution to the above problems as it is quite irritating!

cheers Alex

I forgot about this.

I've emailed Kevin, but has anyone had this done before and can they confirm if the constant '2121' pairing code input can be avoided with the upgrade? Si. <This is my name.

That is the most annoying thing to be honest, any idea on cost for the upgrade as there aren't any prices on the website.

I got an replacement module from here (my original was damaged) with the upgraded software and my phone (tried Iphone 4, iPhone 5s and a couple of more basic phones) connected each time I started the car without having to re-pair each time. Unfortunately I don't use the built in Bluetooth anymore as all of a sudden the quality of the call from the car deteriorated to such an extent that the person the other end could not hear.

If you have a lot of contacts they do not all seem to download to the car buut no obvious pattern as to which ones do and which don't.

Website says the cost is £65 for the upgrade in Europe. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

Reading the website says that the constant pairing stops and the phone book is downloaded and to be fair for £65 it seems a very good deal indeed.

Will get this sorted out before end of August when I drive to Czech Republic.

I have a Bluetooth upgrade from Wiggs/bluetoothexchange - mine stays paired and uploads the phone book

However, the phone book only displays the first number listed for each contact - I do not have enought time to update every contact to the number I use the most, hence I just use Siri to call people Thumbs Up

Works well enough, although the call quality is certainly worse than in my 2010 E class merc 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

There is a better upgrade to the standard firmware flash upgrade that can be done easily enough as I have done with the later units. Requires two cables being cut into and job done.

Much clearer call quality, contacts are all shown and no pairing issues. gives signal and battery indication as well for the mobile IIRC. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Mine was fine after the update and clear to hear both ways. The problem came some weeks after the upgrade so I don't believe the two are connected. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

Alex, sound quality was the same before and after the upgrade - the RR is just not as good as the Merc

I'll have to find the link later but for your fault have you tried replacing the mic for the later one?

The upgrade is courtesy of Wiggs and simpley requires power from the old connector and the most fires plugging in. Takes 5mins to do for me now Smile if that! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I got a new microphone from Dan but sounds just the same. I even uninstalled my Pure DAB in case it was interference and unplugged the phone charger and radar etc... but no difference. Seemed to go bad overnight. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

Have you checked for water ingress in the rear compartment? Could be rusty pins on the connector/module... 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

Got my unit today after not ordering it as I was busy so will be fitting tonight or tomorrow night and trying it out. Went on holiday in the car in August and it was a pain having to pair the phone every time I got in and out of the car.
