If you genuinely believe it has been clocked then you need to get it professionally checked. I would start with a main dealer who can access all the records for the chassis number.

I bought it for repair as it had an engine fault and cosmetically a bit tatty but not too bad, fair for the price, seller said no s/h and advertised as 113k general wear seemed to marry up, but found s/h in the glove box indicating over 214k |

214000 to 114000 could be a typo. I think to advice on looking at Service Records and MOT are spot on. |

Although I am pretty p#*+sed off by this it does have some testament to the reliability of this particular car . The service history that goes all the way to 214k miles and I think it may have done more than that 230k+ is very comprehensive main dealer and all it shows is oil and filter changes, brake pads! wiper blades tyres, and the odd bulb plus a replacement coolant expansion tank. Nothing else appears to have broken or let go in all those miles, impressive! |

Girl that worked for me once bought a Volvo which had about 50,000 on it and it was immaculate and looked as if the milage was correct. Her husband found evidence that it had over 120,000 on the clock. The dealer (not a main dealer) had bought it in good faith as a PX and instantly refunded her with full payback even though she had by that time done about 2000 miles in the car. They were very quick to apologise as there reputation was at stake.

It's very simple to acctually clock the mileometer check the ads in any exchange and mart for milage recalibrators! It's not illegal, to sell a car passing mileage as genuine is!

I have contacted the trader if I get no joy I will go with Trading Standards. He says he did not know but it seems unlikely as I can see the car in some of his old adverts dating back to late November and the service history was in the cars glovebox |
