The drivers door should go as well so it is more likely to be something internal in the door or a wiring/connector issue.

I have had both rear door latches replaced because of this issue.

Zoso, is it just the locking which is not working or are some of the other controls also broken? (eg one touch windows, mirror adjustment)

GraemeC.........everything works except the drivers door central locking so it's sounds the same issue as you and Cappo had. I assume the "big connector" is the one on the youtube guide he had to use a screw driver to release !!

Im afraid it sounds like the latch assembly is goosed sir... Think yourself lucky its not decided to pack up in the deadlocked position otherwise the door would simply not open! Fancy cutting to get it open then
