MGB Help

For my dads 50th me and my brother bought him a resto project MGB that needed work.
Unfortunately my mums health has gotten so bad that he hasn't had the time to even look at it let alone do anything with it and a few years down the line has now decided it should go.

Can anyone suggest the best place to advertise it so as to have it saved or break it for parts as there are a lot of parts on it that are worth saving but don't have a clue where to put it.
My dad wants it gone by the end of the month ideally and if not then hes asked for my angle grinder and will save the bits he thinks are good and list them up on the bay and weigh the rest/rot in. I must state it doesn't run and the car will need a reshell and possibly floor pans. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Car and Classic.

eBay

AutoTrader

Gumtree (for local coverage)

Those are the ones I use for classic browsing.

Maybe there's a local MGBOC near you? Si. <This is my name.

Try the MG Car Club or the MG Owners Club. Both have Forums with For Sale sections and monthly newsletters. My Motto: If you are going to have one, have a BIG one!

I know it's a touch more work for you in terms of an advert BUT a pal of mine sold his split screen VW to a guy in Japan who said that there is a massive demand for UK classics over there. Maybe worth a few quid more overseas ? Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

You could post it in the Classics section on PH - oh hang on you're not supposed to post ads there. You could "ask advice what to do with it" Wink

My bro-in-law got rid of one recently that he had had from new (1981) and all he got was weigh-in money despite having thrown thousands at it in the past few years keeping it on the road.

Possibly there's an MG club member who would be able to consign sell it for you in return for reasonable compensation for his time. It could be a way to get it out of the garage quickly while still getting some good $ for it.

Thanks guys, I'm checking the chrome work on it tomorrow as I think with the wheels they are the most valuable bits and then see about posting it up on Monday as I get a nice early train to Falkirk Sad FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

The photos are of an MG Midget, not an MGB! Should've been old enough to know better...doh!

Already had two offers of £250 with the usual, I'll come round right away and pay cash malarkey so I know I'm in the tigt ballpark for price.

We love him really! If my mums health hadn't detroited so badly and quickly it would have been done and be a good weekend car but as it is she needs 24/7 care and no space for a wheel chair it and now he's realised its better to let someone else have it before the rot gets any worse Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
