I would go for a 110 defender, but my girlfriend is very unimpressed with my 90 so that is a no no.

Defenders are nice, but if you don't need ultimate offroad ability they are uncomfortable, noisy and over priced for what you get in my opinion. (and I've had eight, including two from new) That includes the new transit engined one, although they have finally managed to fit an air-con system that actually works.

100% right. Has more character than any other vehicle. Last 90 was the TDCi from the Transit, and I liked it a lot. But I still rubbed my shoulder every day on the A-post and had pain there laying in bed, got a bad knee after sitting in traffic from the stiff clutch (was my daily commuter) and bits had started to rust after one year. So I had to stop driving a Defender for two hours every day. Having had most engines LR put in them I bought one to keep for a long time for fun use only... and went back to my favorite, the 300TDi. Just seems 'right' for the vehicle. Bonus that I found a Camel in very good condition. Now I keep that for fun and use the FFRR every day. Good luck with the TDV6 conversion. It sounds like fun. I'd still get the Navara with an auto to use everyday as a working vehicle. No character, but much more civilised. ![]() |

Had a Nissan Navara Aventura - Sat Nav, Bluetooth phone kit, automatic, full leather. Had the back cover put on so it wasn't really a pick up anymore (well..) and looked good, and was practical. Didn't use it for work, i got it because i could purchase it through the company and blah blah. |
