Zero discount - really true??

Currently about to place an order but have been told by many dealerships they or Land Rover will not offer any form of discount on the L405. What's everyone else's experience?

I just got back from a meeting with LR regional sales manager, here in France, and indeed they offer "very limited" discount.

Their problem being they can not get enough Sports, L405 and Evoques allocated, so indeed they do not have to offer any sort of discount - they could, but there is not reason for them to, unless say you are a returning customer, will order another LR soon, etc.

Try to get free upgrades or accessories, but a discount will be hard to get indeed.

Congrats on your upcoming purchase. I was just in a A/B TDV8 black on Black L405... Mummm. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

Interesting. I am a returning customer and they just do not want to know! I also have another vehicle on order...

It is a lovely vehicle but I just can't bring myself to pay full price.

Has anybody purchased via UK Car Broker before?

One tactic that I've heard of that may work for a straight purchase with no trade-in.

1. Decide on the EXACT spec you want.
2. Fax/email an Invitation to Tender to all the JLR dealers within the maximum area you are willing to travel.
3. Indicate on the message that you do NOT want to discuss the deal, go for a test drive, etc. you WILL be buying the vehicle from the dealer with the best price. The only response you are interested in is a Bill of Sale with all the amounts already filled in for their best, final, all-inclusive price.

JLR won't be involved in any discount, but it does play the dealers off against one other for who wants the business. A few hungry salespeople near the end of the month and you may be lucky.

When it was tried here, the woman FAXed 15 dealers (not JLR), was ignored by 7, got offers to test drive from 5, and solid offers for a car from three. She picked the cheapest, got a money order for the amount specified and bypassed all the usual Censored around buying a car.

Of course, part exchange complicate it as no two used cars are exactly the same. Dealer financing can also complicate things.
