2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey
2007 Vs 2009

I know this could generate some good and bad points but I have today been offered an upgrade/swap. Cut a long story short; I have a 2007 3.6 tdv8 vogue and have been offered the opportunity of selling it and replacing with a facelifted 2009 59 3.6 tdv8 vogue. Same colour, spec - pretty much identical. I have been thinking of a facelift conversion for sometime. They are c £3k. It will cost me £6k to change the car.

What benefit with the 59 plate have over mine. BTW they both have similar mileage, 66k.

Thumbs Up Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Iirc it will be quieter, have better infotainment and the new front end but aside from that not much.

However it will probably worth the difference going forward so you wont really lose the £3k over the price of a facelift plus yours......man maths rules! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I am having a look at it after the weekend. It sounds nice, the 59 plate bit is good too. Problem is on paper mine is a winner in every way so I am not 100% sure. I also bought mine with the intention of keeping it for 4-5 years so only 12 months in could earn me a thick ear of SWMBO....or at least a trip to the Radley shop ! Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Doesn't the 59 also have the LCD dash dials?

Very true Conor though I'm not sure which ones exactly didnt have them, definitely worth checking though as the tdv8 needs the brembos! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Well I have seen some pics...it looks ok. I am not sure on the dash, though if it's basically the same as my pals 4.4 tdv8 on an 11 plate I'll be giving it serious thought. BUT....I really like mine, have done all the little bits I wanted to do and although the £6k is there it could be put to use on better things.....weekend to mull it over and see what it's like in the flesh. Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

If you're already going for a conversion, then it's only 3K more. At that price, it's worth it.

If you're already really happy with your current car, then it becomes a bit more problematic.

I had the same (ish) decision to make when buying my new one 2 weeks ago (all be it a 4.4TDV8 though)... As my 2007 3.6 is such a stonking car and has been sooooooo reliable & is 2012 converted already...

I will of course report back when i have picked up the new car, but that won't be for another week or so (on holiday at mo) so maybe too late to be of assistance Rolling Eyes Thumbs Up

been in this situation as well nick with the recent spate of peeps buying 5.0's but i couldnt justify the price i would get for mine to how much extra i would have to pay for the 5.0....granted you do get a lcd dash, updated nav/radio screen and newer front and rear lights but is it worth an extra £6-8k for a year younger FF. ... - .- -.

I've also been having similar thoughts recently, as the market seems somewhat flat right now, so early >MY10, albeit with highish miles are starting to pop up at very attractive prices! Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

You get the better infotainment with the 2009, but you loose the brembos

For me, the good option would be to wait, and then go for a 2010 with the 4.4.

Well I had some time today and went to see the 59plate. It's not £6k better than mine and that's the bottom line. Drove the same, TFT dash is nice but far from essential. Infotainment is better, think it had DAB too.

It didn't feel £6k nicer and tbh has had some minor paint correction work done for stone chips.

I think I'll go with plan A; keep this for 4 years and head for a 4.4 tdv8...it'll make sense in the long run and in 4 years time they'll be in my pocket depth range too

Thumbs Up

disappointingly the guy who is interested in buying mine had a look and said yep to the price I asked for...result but not for sale now ! Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........
