Did you use an ordinary webcam Pete?

Yeah, I got it with the unit from Erisin.... was less than a tenner.... pretty good pic though.... tried loads of variations on daily roads but it would only take pics, not video.... Pete

you can change where the music app looks for songs
select the music app

it should open ad look like this

select the folder option

then you will see this and you can select the storage where the music is

as you can see I have the gps card the sdcard and a usb connected
it should auto play when you select the folder

I guessed there must be a way.... just never had the time to fully explore what it will do, the manual is very basic and I've never had an Android device before

By any chance has anyone managed to get a reply from messages sent to Erisin?
I've sent three over the last month, via their web site, and had no replies. I also tried phoning the UK number but got a message to say that it wasn't a working line!
I wanted to buy one of their cameras (ES550, the one listed with the ES9753A) but there is no way of adding it to a shopping basket. I know, I know, I should have got it with the head unit.

It's just a cheap USB web cam, there must be loads on ebay....

So you could possibly wire in a USB switch box and a long extension lead, allowing you to have another web cam on a suction mount that you could stick anywhere on the vehicle when off roading etc...... Like a Venturecam.......

That head unit seems very versatile.......

Though it could be easier wirelessly with your mobile phone, without using the car at all......

There are loads of usb webcams on eBay Pete, but they all seem to need connecting to Microsoft to work.
I bought a cheap one from PC World but the head unit wouldn't see it. It came with an installation disc for windows and works fine on my laptop though.
When I bought it I told the guy what I wanted it for and he didn't think that it would work with Android; he was correct!

I am working on a multi can android app for it using the reversing cam and a USB cam its working but has a few bugs
The good thing is they have included USB drivers in the base android system which is normally an issue, I will get a USB hub and see how many devices it supports


I will post up some links over the next few days once I work out why the front can insist on being upside down even when you turn it

I'm beginning to think that there is a fault with this unit of mine.
Whatever I try, the USB ports will not accept music from a memory stick.
Now I've noticed that when my new webcam is working on the laptop a little switch, which is for taking a still image, is lit.
But on the head unit it isn't.
Shouldn't there be a voltage pos and neg on two of the four connections in a USB socket?

plug it in the find the file browser you should se the usb device listed.
