Had my TD6 remapped at JE Engineering

Took my 55 plate TD6, which has just over 79,000 miles on the clock, down to JE Engineering at Coventry for a remap last week and I am extremely pleased with the result.
Car is much smoother to drive with improved throttle response and quieter too, even from cold.
Even SWMBO comented on how much better it felt and sounded from the passenger seat!
MPG remains the same at present (dash computer figures, that is) but I am still enjoying the extra power. Thumbs Up
Only regret now is that I didn't do it sooner!
Whilst my car was being worked on the workshop manager took me out for a spin in one of their 500 bhp V8 Zulu Defenders. Awesome bit of kit! A Land Rover just shouldnt be able to accelerate that fast! Very Happy 2012 Westminster TDV8 4.4 Indus Silver

Hi, yes it was the Blue soft top he took me out in.

Great team of people there, would definately recommend them to anyone thinking of doing this upgrade or any other modification. 2012 Westminster TDV8 4.4 Indus Silver

Does this make the engine quieter at high speeds as the engine is not working as hard?

It certainly seems quieter all round since I've had it done. Even from starting cold it doesn't clatter like it used to before it warmed up. If it wasn't for the fact I have all terain tyres on at the moment it would be really quiet at cruising speed. Still get a big smile when I press the accelerator pedal too! can't say what the rr was like before because it had already been remapped when I bought it. but I struggle to keep it at 70. sometimes I join the motorway and am doing well over so I use the cruise a lot.
chap who I bought it off said he was advised to get it done when the gearbox went, handles gear changes a lot better. when my son drove it he said it was on a par with his audi 2.5 v6 tdi.
can't stop smiling when I drive it. Very Happy
took a drive to cirencester on sunday nearly 200 miles round trip fuel computer registered 38.7 mpg going and 38.3 mpg back, but will have to do the full tank test to see if its doing that well.
greg.
