can a worn fan cause water pump to crack??

can anyone please help. my water pump started leaking on me l322 v8. the garage imstalled a ne one but it splitt the pump. so they have iinstalled a second one and it has done the same thing. could it be the discuss fan that is causing the problem. because the garage have not got a clue. thank you anyone that may know this.
