Badge or no badge

I sat behind a RRS on the M60 with no model badge and no LR badge on the rear, it looked good. I have already removed the VSE badge on delivery of my new RR and I am now thinking of removing the Land Rover badge. I have removed it from this photo using the facetune app, what do you think?

No badges on mine. I think it looks more discreet.

I think it makes it look like it's been in an accident and someone's done a sloppy repair and not bothered to put the badges back.......

Or a cheap re spray in that area......

Seems all the rage now though...... In my day if you had a 1.6 Cortina you put a 2.3 badge on it instead..... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I agree with the above post , makes it look like you have had that part painted . some people would actually stick on a VSE badge Laughing

I've considered the same - I'm maxed out on badges with a VSE SDV8

I've never really understood why the Autobiography doesn't get the SDV8 badge ? Maybe the two horizontal bars looks a bit odd ?

Anyway, I decided to leave mine alone

Looks odd without the badges.

Although I have been thinking of removing just the green oval LR badge on mine or maybe replace it with a black one. Still not sure yet... 2014 SDV8 Autobiography Cool

Been wondering that myself.

When I saw a pic of yours with the SDV8 badge on the rear, I had assumed you had put it on yourself as my Autobiography has no SDV8 badge. 2014 SDV8 Autobiography Cool

My last RR was a Vogue SE and it was de-badged , just having the LR one on it. I always rightly or wrongly assumed in the past that the only people who de-badged their cars were ones who didn't want you to know they had the base model but I can also see that if someone has the top model they may also want to de-badge so they don't advertise what they have. The only problem for me is that I tend to look more closely at a de-badged car to try to figure out what version it is. Just your personal preference at the end of the day I suppose. Steve

Badgers Thumbs Up

Oops, I mean badges Cool unless your going for the smooth look, then you would need to remove "RANGE ROVER" front and back, and colour code it all. .

The badges make it "look right" to me.

I also assume that it is a base model if I see a debadged one. There is also an odd cultural difference. BMW offers debadged models. In the UK, it is the 518/520s that are ordered debadged. In Germany, it is the 540/M5s that are debadged. We are embarrassed by driving the low spec cars and want to hide it (or disguise it with Fake M5 badges). The Germans are embarrassed to flaunt their success.

That people assume mine is a base model doesn't bother me. Those in the know will recognize it is not.
And those who are not in the know will soon see it's not the base engine as soon as you accelerate out of the tollbooths.
I think there are too many badges on cars in general and it spoils the lines.
Some owners of base models debadge but some rebadge so you can't tell anyway which model it is by simply looking at a badge, how many M badged base model BMW's do you see driving around? I remember one guy taking me out back in the mid-90's in his then late model SL, I was surprised to find a manual gearbox in what I thought was a SL600 as I saw the badge on the boot and the V12 badges on the front wings. When I said I wasn't aware that they made SL600 available with a manual gearbox he told me it was a special order, he didn't fool me though, especially when he started the engine, it sounded more like a SL280. Tosser!
