tdv8 surging

Hi,

My '07 3.6 tdv8 doesn't seem to accelerate smoothly. When accelerating the rev counter bounces around and you can feel the car is actually accelerating in surges.

Sometimes when driving at a constant speed the rev counter hovers around a bit, probably +-300 revs.

It's done 150,000 miles, is there anything around this mileage that would begin to fail? It recently had a split boost pipe, which when replaced made the problem better but it's not completely gone away.

Is there anything I can check before having to send it into a dealer?

Engine oil temp sensor can cause all sorts of odd driveability issues. Readings need to be checked via diagnostics

Failing that, it could be the beginning of gearbox issues. Has it had an oil change yet? LR say it needs changed at 150k...
Even better bet would be to have it flushed.
