LPG refillable systems, worth knowing

We were on Orkney recently with the motorhome (and the mighty Gayped), weather was typical (i.e. Baltic).
Due to a rare unforced error, I did not check the state of the gaslow system, and we ran out.
There is nowhere (yes nowhere) on Orkney that dispenses LPG at a Pump. In fact the nearest one is at Dornoch (actually the Tall Pines Gleaner station) . As the weather was really cold and we had no heating , we had to evacuate back down Dornoch on the next ferry.

We did stay at the Brora CC site instead though, which was a bit of a result as the weather picked for the few days we were there, and that site is a really nice spot. Used the mighty Gayed to get around Embo, Dornoch, Golspie etc etc

So , if you are ever venturing north of Inverness , check you LPG before you go!!
