Hi Geoff, the shuttle is part of the modulator unit (next to the brake pedal box on a defender, just inside the wing). Its a pain to get to on defenders, disco2s have the same set up but much easier access. To get a better view you have to remove the wing side air intake

I believe the pump has to be removed, to access the bottom of the ABS pump, to fit the new shuttle valve.

Bare in mind that a new shuttle valve switch pack is not necessarily the fix. The pins that the pack fits into inside the modulator can be the problem as the solder joints crack over time. Also the earths need checking for corrosion and wiring for broken cores which are obviously simpler and cheaper fixes.

As stated above, the SVS is located on the underside of the brake modulator. I did this mod on my Disco TD5 (I am having a problem linking to the original BVI LR Club site) and haven't had a repeat of the problem. Do a Google search on the 3 amigos and you will get a few links to the mod.
