Waiting for the AA

I think the gearbox has just gone pop on my SC.... Currently sat on the A30 just outside Stockbridge waiting to be rescued...
Was obviously never meant to see EELS in concert which was where we were heading..... Regards

Has the 5.0 got a different gearbox to the 4.2?

Hopefully you've got warranty cover for whatever it is Mark, fingers crossed Thumbs Up

The 5.0 SC has an upgraded version of the 4.2 SC box. I'm keen to know what went wrong as these boxes are virtually bulletproof, like the SC engines.

How many miles have you done and have you had the oil/filter changed ? MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Misfire on one side of the engine sounds like a connector issue and hopefully not the gearbox?

That sounds like an ignition issue on one cylinder bank. Indeed connector/cabling related comes to mind. Each cylinder has its own coil. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

I've just had the garage on and they are saying they have to replace all the coils on one bank as they have been damaged by the miss fuel?? I'm not convinced but they've got my car an I can't really say otherwise...
So.. I'm due an Ł1100 bill on Friday........... Regards

Because they are replacing the stuff that has been damaged and not telling me why it happened or replacing the item that caused it. Regards

Umm, that doesn't make any sense at all. I don't see how all 4 coils could simultaneously die.
[Edit: The chances of that happening are precisely nil - dodgy knock sensor on that bank?]
