Has the 5.0 got a different gearbox to the 4.2?

The 5.0 SC has an upgraded version of the 4.2 SC box. I'm keen to know what went wrong as these boxes are virtually bulletproof, like the SC engines.

Misfire on one side of the engine sounds like a connector issue and hopefully not the gearbox?

That sounds like an ignition issue on one cylinder bank. Indeed connector/cabling related comes to mind. Each cylinder has its own coil. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

I've just had the garage on and they are saying they have to replace all the coils on one bank as they have been damaged by the miss fuel?? I'm not convinced but they've got my car an I can't really say otherwise...

Because they are replacing the stuff that has been damaged and not telling me why it happened or replacing the item that caused it. Regards

Umm, that doesn't make any sense at all. I don't see how all 4 coils could simultaneously die.
