hi guys just had car pass mot with advisory on rear diff ns play.

had a look and about half inch up and down movement

replacement sourced

how easy/hard is it to fit ,have looked at rave and wondering If there is an easier way

any body want to do job willing to pay

Is the movement in the diff mountings or a problem with the diff itself?

If the mountings these are replaceable ( I have them already waiting for the day)

From RAVE this looks like a fairly straightforward job to remove the diff, no special tools, working at my pace ( ) and doing it on the drive, probably a day to get it out and a day to put it back, a garage would probably want 4-5 hours for it. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember

hi joe,its the diff n/s flange moves up and down by about 3/4 of an inch ,got it in a garage near me doing it for £200 all in which I think is ok .

going to ask him for old diff so I can strip it down and see whats what

That's not too bad a price Pete. Print out the RAVE instructions for them if they don't have them, they might sniff at them but then if they cock something up they can't say you didn't tell them what was needed!  .
