And our fuel costs are lower...
I remember I followed every second possible of that flight, radio, TV, papers etc. Even watched in the middle of the night. They were courageous!

We have more computer power in our watches than they had back then!!
I was only 4 years old when I saw that, it still inspires me today!!! True heroes Bow down Bow down
I just feel so sad that that kind of spirit, resolve and TRUE GRIT isn't around today. H&S has destroyed the real reason we evolved.

Neil, Buzz and Mike... I salute you Bow down Bow down Bow down

Ditto to the above. Thumbs Up

What a great adventure! Like the grounding of Concorde, we seem to sometimes slip backwards.

I remember visiting NASA as a very small child in the late '70s. They were very proud to have moved on from the "old Apollo stuff" and were working on the new Space Shuttle (which had proper wings that I thought all things that fly should have). I thought it was cool, then asked where they were going to go in it. The moon? No. Mars? No. Where? Just up in orbit. I was a lot less impressed then.
