Monitor's faceplate

My monitor's silver face plate, with the knobs, is full of scratches while in some places color is completely off so thinking to replace or repaint it .Is it possible to take it off without having out the all unit from dash .(GPS system mk 4 with non touch screen.)

Many thanks for your reply.

I believe the only way out is to lift the top of the dash off and remove the whole unit, then dismantle from there .
