Facelift or tastefully ruggedise

My L322 is showing its age, its a 2004 which I have had for 8 years doing towing and general horse stuff e.g. stuffing bales of hay in the back, as such its a bit scuffed round the edges, also sat in the yard for 18 months with an immobiliser issue as I was working abroad at the time and we had another one to take over. Anyway, dont want to sell it as its worth more to me and I want to give it a new lease of life. SO, do I facelift it which I estimate will cost c. £5000 or tastefully ruggedise it like my defender, I cant find much info on the wonder web about parts etc. Would be happy to spend that amount to continue enjoying it, I am not bothered about resale value as it is here to stay. any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks Thumbs Up

Well if it helps this is what it may look like in "2012" guise:

Or in full off roader guise:

Ooooh, I'm loving the wheels on the rugged one. Damn shame they don't fit over 5.0 S/C brakes.

Oh, ruggedise. Thumbs Up

Why don't you do a little of both.

Update grill, side vents, handles etc to give it a lift, then change wheels/tyres for ruggidness 2024 P550e Autobiography

A facelift changes how it looks, beefing it up a bit changes what it can do.

Tough call, as I am a fan of both suggestions AND we all know of a site sponsor that could help you with either direction...

It all really depends on what you will do and if you plan of getting another one any time soon (i.e. a facelifted one) - I mean what is wrong with owning 2 L322 Whistle

Anyway, ...

@verydisco, that is where I am going with this I think, the current one has served me well and in reality not worth much due to its condition etc. So beef it up (no rush) and buy another one., I have been looking for a couple of months since I sold my RRS and can't find anything else, bit sad but life is too short ! Matbe could ManMath an SC Bow down

Kurt. that would be OK but it is long in the tooth now and I need?? something else, we have a number of other cars but the FF is all I want to drive. Yes I could lavish money on it and may well end up that way but would love to have a 'tough' looking one and another business one if that makes sense Thumbs Up

Sounds like you have your answer.

You could have your own rugged variant where Land Rover missed, like a Tomb Raider L322 or your own take on a G4.

Sounds like you already know what you want to do, keep this and "beef it up" and get a TDV8 or 5.0 SC as a daily driver. And of course it has to be a 5.0 SC the pinnacle of L322 IMHO. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Problem solved !

Keep in touch if you wish info about the gear LR fitted on my G4 L322 (pics, references etc) or get in touch with Craig as he may have access to most of the parts wyou'll need too. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l
