HI ALL Thumbs Up

thought I would give you an update with the FF

I was still swaying towards getting my OF Elara alloys done with black centres as discussed in a previous post

so I thought I would try something "semi-perminant" as painting would be too much hassle to reverse if I didn't like it, I thought about getting them wrapped but would be hard to get in to the small areas and wouldn't look perfect, AND IT HAS TO LOOK PERFECT! (I have OCD when it comes to my car Laughing )

so I done some googling and found a product called Plasti-Dip which is the new big thing in America but don't think its that big here in the UK yet, you simply spray on 3-5 coats leave to dry for around 40 mins between each coat then peel off the areas you don't want, so how hard could it be! then I bought 2 cans off eBay for £14 each and gave it a try!

the Plasti-Dip came in 2 working days so i waited till the weekend to get the shoes off the OF and get them sprayed!

a picture of the wheels BEFORE:

wheels removed:

then scrubbed with Bilberry Wheel Cleaner & rinsed:

then was to mask off all the alloys which was a nightmare:

the product in question:

first coat applied which isn't to be heavy just a light coat, left for 40mins to dry:

top left is wheel one with 4 coats applied, to the right wheel 2 with 3 coats applied and so on:

wheels left overnight to dry and peeled masking tape off gently the finished product was just perfect!! very very happy with them:

then fitted to the car:

gave the car two coats of Swissvax & looks perfect Thumbs Up

Very nice. I'm not someone who gets excited by alloys, but those just look "right."

Hello Everyone Thumbs Up

not updated you all with the goings on of the RR and ALOT has changed

firstly the colour of the car has undergone a change from Santorini black to Matte Gunmetal Grey, I know this isn't to everyones taste but I wanted a change & the Santorini is still underneath there & is totally reverse able when i get fed up or fancy another colour

let me know what you guys think!

I have also just purchased a set of 22" Overfinch Olympus alloys which will be going black in the next couple of weeks when i get home from my vacation to get the Elaras off for a refurb & fresh rubber

Another little update for you guys on FFRR

Got back from my vacation a little while after my last update, jet lagged & wide awake at 4 a.m. I decided to get up & give the FF a good detail & seal with a lot of matte detailing goodies I'd purchased from Chemical Guys (got a lot because of the price difference in the US)

After detailing and looking at the FF I decided it look very "primer like" as you can see from the picture below :

I decided to remove the wrap then & there, so started peeling :

Then :

Another wash (the big man doesn't look to bothered):

As I mentioned in my last update I had purchased OF Olympus alloys, haven't done that much milage but were stored dirty for over a year so small bits of corrosion in certain areas! polished them using my DA & came up amazing! very happy with them sealed them up & onto the test fit:

Finally all fitted & torqued, only tyre soap on those tyres incase anyone was wondering:

The FF getting a full decontamination, 3 stage polish & Swissvax tomorrow 11 RR Overfinch | Santorini Black | 22" Elara Alloys

Stunning car mate. I definitely recognise the regi from around town. Any Plans to wrap it again or just keeping it black ? What's the price of the chemical guys stuff in the US ? Iv got tons of the stuff from the place that sells it in Cambuslang. Range Rover Vogue 2006 4.4 AJV8 | Buckingham Blue | Parchment Leather | Supercharged Grill+Side Vents | CA02 HEY ( NOT 02 PLATE )

Just looked at your pictures, seen your car in town also Thumbs Up

Not sure if I'll wrap it again anytime soon the Santorini looks amazing when clean!

Got the Chemical Guys stuff nearly of half the price of it on CG UK website so took full advantage of that, never knew anywhere sold it round here! where can I find them? 11 RR Overfinch | Santorini Black | 22" Elara Alloys
