5.0SC Timing chain & guides?

I bought my first L322 last month and loving the car so far, I was well aware that these models suffer from timing chain guide issues. I’m now looking at changing all the necessary parts out as a preventative measure since I’m planning to keep the car for a few years or more.
I’ve researched the net quite a bit but can’t find any decent instructions on how to do this job, I was hoping that someone on here would have access or a copy of the Land Rover workshop procedure since there was a technical bulletin
(LTB00474NAS3) for this particular job.

Looks like special tools required will cost about 200.
All parts required for job 899+VAT based on a receipt I seen on one of the forums from someone who had the job done last year at a dealership.

Any advice from someone who has already done this job would be much appreciated. I’m planning to do this sometime in January.

Details of car:
59 plate
Done 80k
Full main dealer history
One owner.

Thanks

Richard - did you ever do this job?

It seems very hit and miss as to whether the issue ever occurs in the 5.0 S/C - some people seem to have needed it fairly early on, others are fine on 100k+.

I keep debating having it done as a preventive measure, as similarly I plan on keeping my 2011 fairly long term, but my LR specialist hasn't yet ever needed to do it to a 5.0 S/C. I think you can get the (genuine) parts quite a bit cheaper if you shop around - I remember seeing supposedly the full kit of parts around £400-500 from an LR/Jag specialist.

I'll have a hunt at home tonight - I thought somewhere on either an RR or Jag forum I saw a reasonable write up and pictures of what/how to do the job, although clearly not many people do it at home!

Just a general question regarding the updated part;

- when did this become implemented on built cars?

. Cheers, Greg

Greg, all L322's "will" suffer from it, the updated parts came out after the last one was built... as far as I can find out...!! Pete

Are you hunting then Greg...?!

I've never found an exact answer, but seemed like maybe some of the early L405's also had the same potential issue, and the updated parts weren't fitted until a little way into L405 production.
