Anyone recommend good Range Rover restoration company?

Hi, just wondering if anyone can recommend me a company that would be good for restoration of a 1996 P38 back to better than new factory condition? Looking for one recommended from personal experience please. Any advice , experience info greatly appreciated,

cheers Craig, sorry did not realise you did restoration, my bad, can you cover all aspects, will probably be looking at full bare metal respray, re trimming etc. inside, mechanical overhaul and very specifically keen to have major engine overhaul but wish it to be the same engine not swap it for another. 2011 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 TDV8

Benfelrr, I know you want to keep your engine, presumably for originality, however I really think you'd be better spending the money on a Turner Engineering or RPI top hat linered engine as you could in theory spend a lot having yours rebuilt to find that you only upset it taking the heads off it which results in it slipping a liner or becoming porous.

Just my 2p worth.

The P38 I had that caught fire had pretty much had a similar sort of restoration done to what you're looking to have done to yours. Was heart breaking watching it burn on the hard shoulder. Sad

they're lovely cars, but you can still buy a really nice original one, in mint condition, low milage....surely for a LOT less money. also agree with the engine posting. unless you happen to have Her Maj's old shooting/horse hack that is.

also agree with the engine posting. though you could send your engine to Turner for a direct recon...

Cheers David, sorry to hear about your car fire, can only imagine how that would feel!

RE the engine, basically, I sold my p38 which I knew from new and had as second owner when I changed up to my TDV8, which I have just sold. This will sound like nonsense but the day after I sold the TDV8 had a dream that my p38 was on ebay so looked for a laugh... and erm there it was so I have bought it back. Should never have let it go.

The engine in it is brilliant and never missed the beat, I appreciate all you say and am sure your right but in this particular car I want the engine to stay, and if it all goes wrong I am happy to have everyone say I told you so.

Just one of those stubborn things in life!

Sorry again to hear about your car. 2011 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 TDV8

Yes indeed you can, but this is my old Range Rover I have bought back so would rather have this one as should never have sold it in the first place! Still, you live and learn and she is back now! This time she is staying! 2011 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 TDV8

It was when I sold it but at the moment it is looking pretty tired! Hazed lacquer on the bonnet etc. Will stick some pics up when I get a mo. Its dark green with the saddle leather which I know isnt as good as the sand leather but does show mud less badly and have got used to it again in under 40 miles of driving this eve! 2011 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 TDV8

sounds like an old romantic to me.... like Richard Burton and Liz taylor. -England's finest on/off relationship. Cool
they liked to spend the money too!
and had a 'drinking' problem.

make sure the tyres are fit for a 'rocky road'.....ooh-err.

however, on the flip side, in my garage i have a pair of centre console side cheeks in saddle leather (i think,) with the walnut sides. (AB) going cheap. -PM if interested, i will check here too.
