Just an observation re the L405 V L322

I was driving through some very heavy rain and spray on the M40 earlier today and was passed by several L322's and 405's all of which had their lights on. The L405's disappeared into the rain and spray after about 75 yds and were just not visible from the rear.
The L322's however (2002 - 2012) remained clearly visible for nearly double that distance.
It's just a personal observation but a £100K motor with the latest LED lighting technology should have 'better' rear lighting in poor visibility that the older model it has replaced.
I realise that no matter how good your rear lamps are some numpty can still collide with you but I was glad I had my L322 rear lamps and not the L405 type. As I say it's just an observation. Travelling around in circles again.

the FF has two bulbs on the 2002-2009 and two pretty bright leds on the 2010-2012 years and i agree these are much better than the very small leds on the new range rover.. ... - .- -.

I'm sure the lights will comply with all current European safety standards for illumination Wink

Slightly off topic - I love the rear and side of the L405 - looks very swish! However, the front IMHO looks bloody awful - like any budget Korean car, and is already looking dated. Perhaps a facelift could sort this Confused 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

I wouldn't turn down a 405, however I'd be using my rear fog lights as well as normal rear lights in heavy rain and spray if I had one. Real world conditions trump styling and EU safety standards any day. Travelling around in circles again.

Please don't use Fogs in heavy rain / spray as they mask your Brake lights Thumbs Up

not on the 2002-2009 l322, the brake lights are separate, anyways you have the third brake light for additional illumination.. ... - .- -.

You are a saint, mpirie. Your selfless devotion to others has inspired me. I'm willing to follow your example and do the same for those with LHD.

Its the intensity of rear fogs in spray mask the illumination of the brake lights plus if you really need the lights your Road speed should be vastly reduced Not the placement

Thumbs Up

I wish my FFRR was here yet so I could use here in the pouring rain we had this morning driving into Singapore. The nice thing here is that you can add all kinds of lights (like I plan to do with my reflectors, insert the LED lights I bought online, white (to help with backing up) and red (to come on with the brake lights).

On top of that, a lot of "fairy lights" are used here. Something I WON'T do by the way Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!
