A good friend of mine here in France has 2 of them including one of Anneka's, the last remaining one (the other one burnt in the UK).

Although some of the prices for classic RR seem to go through the ceiling, I still see them as ugly old Range Rovers, (probably will be nailed down now by someone on here) so I do not see any harm in re using them. Nobody would cry over 70ies and 80ies RRes ( the other RR) being slaughtered. |

So lets modify the question. Not sure if the P38 would be suitable (can't remember whether it has a separate chassis). Would that be acceptable if a Classic would not.

Butchering any fine working, nice car to change it into a racer, a dakarcar or a canteen is a pity. How many Riley's, Bentley's and other great saloons were ruined to change them into something else. A Riley Brookland replica on a Monaco chassis is nowadays worth a lot more as the original saloon. Be it P38 or a classic and it' s yours, you can do to it what you want, you might just build another piece of history. I would rather see a all these pieces, chassis, bodyparts etc. reused as scrapped. This discussion is already going on for years in the vintage and classic car world. Nobody has THE answer. A car that has lost it's body in the 60ies and has another body bolted on to the chassis, prolonged it's history. The new body is part of that history. Throwing away a perfectly good body to build on something else is not my kind of thing. |

Hi Robert, I do agree with your point, unless you have a perfectly good home for the good body it is basically wasting money and resources especially to make it a Dakar. Better to get a junker of a body that is gone anyway and then put the rest to good use. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

You can also use a Disco - plenty of rusting 300-series cars with respectable chassis out there. Regards,

seems a shame to waste an expensive 80's plastic bath tub on a vastly lacking P38 |
